So I had to file the CSS for my early action school (what a flop, was rejected!) so I have it all ready to go. I got mail from a school I'm applying to saying that I have to submit the CSS as well as the FAFSA which I thought would be redundant but I'm not the one who knows anything about this financial aid stuff, haha. So I know I have to do the FAFSA for every school, but what about the CSS? Is that something I have to check each school for, or is it like the FAFSA where all schools require it? Thanks

Only certain schools require it. Some require just FAFSA, some FAFSA and CSS, some FAFSA and their own financial aid forms. You need to check with your schools for their requirements and their deadlines. Many priority deadlines are fast approaching. If FA is important you need to make sure you meet these deadlines.

Schools that use CSS usually require FAFSA to determine eligibility for any federal aid (which is very limited), and use the much more detailed CSS to determine eligibility for any institutional aid.
