Do I take the risk?

So, I'm a government major, business minor with a recent change of heart. I've always had my heart set on law school, but with my 3.55 GPA after the end of sophomore year and the fact that I never do well on standardized tests leaves me panicking about the options I have left. If I continue on my government/business path, I should graduate with something like a 3.8.

I've always had some interest in pharmacy school, but always dismissed the idea because of the chemistry and physics involved (I only passed those in high school because the teachers were my sports coaches.) I refuse to graduate late, so with the time that I have left, should I take the risk and complete the pharm school prerequisites? I don't have any of the prerequisites done except for the humanities courses, english req, and statistics. I'm afraid my GPA will go down with the trouble I have with chem and physics.

I would have to take 18 credits for the next four semesters plus a 12 credit summer, but I would love to go to pharmacy school. I am still going to take the LSATs and apply to law school, but I would prefer pharmacy school. I'm stupid; I should have been a bio major so I could do either law or pharmacy. I'm sure I'd be pulling all-nighters to understand chem and physics, but I'm willing to do it if it means that I have a shot at pharmacy school. Do I take the risk or am I just entirely stupid?

If you would love to go to pharmacy school, then try out some of the introductory courses to see if you can hack it. Otherwise, you’ll always wonder what could have been. If you don’t do well, then you know that pharmacy school was not in your future. If you do well and hate it, same thing. But if you do well and love it, then it will have been well worth the academic risk.

I know you’re worried about your GPA, but you should also be worried about your happiness.

Take a deep breath. Just pick on introductory science course to take in the fall and see how you do before you start loading up on those pre-reqs for pharm school.

Sometimes even after three tries, it’s just not meant to be (I wanted to be a vet but I kept getting Cs in chemistry no matter how hard I tried!)
