do i write down where else i am applying?

they can't officially say that on their website or they'd get sued. however, that happened to my school with princeton like 10 years ago, so our college admissions people are really careful about making everyone who applies ED accept their offer of admission.

That doesn't make any sense. What does his school have to do with him declining ED?

it reflects badly on the college counselor at that school that they will let someone apply ED who isn't prepared to accept their decision

Or maybe the kid just expected more money than he got...it reflects more on the parents and what they're willing/able to pay, methinks. The counselor can't control EVERY aspect of the application process.

I know, I'm not saying its fair. However, it happened at my school and for the next 4 years even our valedictorians couldnt get in, and the top 2 or 3 at my school can usually go anywhere in the world they want, so it was definitely not that we just didnt have any qualified applicants to princeton for that long.

Ah.

Ivies blow, anyway.
