Hello everyone,

I was just wondering whether or not my IB marks will matter for getting into medical school, even if I don't use them to get undergraduate course credits next year. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

They would only matter if you were applying to a six-year BS/MD program.

Ahhh ok thanks! So my IB results don’t matter at all considering that I will only be entering med school (if I get in) after completing 4 years of undergraduate studies?

The only issue is that you can’t use terrific advanced placement/IB results to place out of the pre-reqs. So even if you get a year of college credit for, say, biology, you would still need to take a year of bio (albeit at a higher level). You’d probably do that anyway so your IB results won’t matter.

If your IB results were weak, it doesn’t matter at all. No one will ever see them.

thanks for the replies!
