I couldn’t find the direct answer anywhere, so I’m asking here.
In my country, only grades from Year 11 and 12 count when we’re applying to universities in OUR country. We don’t even have to submit grades from Freshman and Sophomore year, so if your GPA in Freshman year was 2.3 and 2.7 in Sophomore year, you don’t have to say anything about it and your GPA can still be 4.0 if you get straight A’s in your Junior and Senior year. So how does this apply to US colleges regarding international students? I heard some don’t look at it, but what does that mean? Do you measure your GPA of all four years still? But they only look closely to grades from the last two years? Or do you simply submit the GPA of the grades you got in Year 11 and 12?
My GPA was not that bad Freshman year at all, but I would still prefer to put in grades that I’ll get in eleventh and twelfth grade.
I’m in the same situation, my country only counts 10th and 11th grade, I don’t know if I have to submit 9th grade too. waiting for someone to respond these questions…
Although there are variations, typically yes, if you have 4 years of marks most colleges want them. If the marks are not counted in your country, your GC notes that in their recommendation. This is a bear for students coming from school systems where grades below a certain year are not counted, so both students and teachers gauge their in put accordingly.
For international students, you don’t submit your GPA- the university calculates it for you.
