Do internationals take the same SAT as US students?

qq

Nope

hahahaha

What about SAT 2’s?

Do internationals all take the same test then?

So that commotion about CB messing up the time allowance was that in UK.

That sucks though, the curve for maths for int test takers will always be max score

@NearMello

SAT subject tests are the same, yes.

The SAT tests administered overseas are recycled identical SAT tests from previous testing dates on the US.

wow, so do US students sit new exams?

How far do they go back and reuse them.

I was under the impression that I would give the same SAT as US students.

Does that mean that the curve is harder for internationals?

@bsdsj22 oh right but the SAT is different?

Are there different timezones for tests so like someone in Japan will sit a different SAT from someone in Canada etc.

No, the curve is not harder for internationals (and anyway–if the curve is “harder,” then the test is “easier”). @NearMello

@marvin100 what about all the asians who make the curve for maths full marks?

I am taking the last SAT in Jan I think.

Just new to all this.

The curve is complicated as isn’t really at the mercy of those who take it on its recycled date.

@marvin100

So the int. curve for US recycled tests are newly generated after all the international students take the test? Or is the US curve applied to he international test?

@marvin100

oh wow, so it is based on what US students find it then.

In my experience the curve has been the same as it was when it was administered in the US, but I’m not sure if that’s policy or just the way the math worked out (it really is very complicated math).

I see thanks.

Why don’t they have everyone take the same test?

@pittsburghscribe because of timezones. Someone in Japan will have taken the test before someone in the US.

@lonelymoonlight Japanese student will get the same SAT that a Toronto student would get.

@ueutyi I was told that there are 3 possible SAT’s

One for US
One for rest of world inc. mexico, uk, brazil etc.
One for korea/china

Is this correct?

How come collegeboard don’t make new SAT papers, how is it fair if a person repeats the same SAT that they have just done :frowning:

THanks for the reply.

@NearMello
Do I guess correctly that you are from India?

FYI, American English usage:
Teachers and test proctors “give” a test
Students “take” a test
