Do internships during the summer before freshman year count on college apps?

I've already posted this under the Pre-College category, but wasn't sure if it was the right place to post it. Well, here it is again:

I have had two amazing offers of internships this summer in two very prestigious marketing companies. I plan to earn my degree in business, so I believe this will help me immensely in college. I am currently a rising freshman, still not done with my eighth grade year, but am considered by most to be much more mature and efficient than my years.

Do the internships, if I accept, count on my college applications, or do they have to be at least in the summer of rising sophomore year to count? The offers still stand next summer....It's just that I'm pretty sure I'll be really busy with SATs and what not in junior and senior year, and hope to have at least two years internship experience...

Thank you! :)

Yes, you can put that internship on your college applications, if it's still relevant to what you intend to pursue when the time comes. Congrats, and good luck!

what in the heck do you do for these firms? i mean, advanced or not, i kind of wonder how much you can contribute.

Laura1013, thank you so much! It's great to hear such positive feedback. Thank you!

Westsidewolf1989, frankly speaking, I don't know a hundred percent myself but even if I were to copy material for them, I'd be happy to be able to work in such a great environment. I hope to be of more use as the years progress. :)

who gives internships at 13? That's how old I was summer before freshman year at least. That's awesome luck for you, man. :]

Wow. It's amazing to see an individual that's so mature for his years.

Congrats :) and best of luck
