Do interviewers have access to my application?

Does anyone know? I searched Columbia’s website but there is no specific mention of it.

They do not. The privacy issues would be enormous to enforce. They know the bare minimum – contact info and potential major.

No.

@T26E4 @happy1 thanks. Also, on an entirely different note, if I wanted to major only in English at Columbia, would I select “undecided” for Major 2 and Major 3? I don’t want to put Creative Writing and Political Science in for Major 2 and 3 because then I would have to explain my interests in those areas in my essays.

^ does anyone know?

Technically, you’re ok putting down just one, then undecided for the others. And technically, you do not always need to explain the 2nd/3rd to the same degree. They’re usually looking for how you explain your possible interest, what thinking comes through. (Or not.) For 2 and 3, sometimes an applicant may say, eg, not certain about poli sci, but would like to explore. Or tie it, in one sentence, to some experience. That’s ok.

The addl possible interests are to give and idea of just that: addl possible interests. Whatever you choose to do, try to make it make sense.

@lookingforward thanks!
