Do me! Do me!

So I am about to finish Junior year and am kind of confused on where I can expect/have resonable hopes of getting into college. I'm definitely in a better position than a lot of kids in my class, but everyone on here has grounded me.

Freshman and Sophomore: 4.0
Junior Year: 3.8 WGPA (I know.. I'm not a math and science girl and took AP Biologyand precalc honors, which is a really hard class at my school)
Senior Year Expected: 4.2 at least

Classes: Four years of Spanish, three years of journalism, all honors and AP

By Graduation: AP Biology, AP World History, AP USH, AP English Lit, AP English Lang, AP Psych, AP, Government, AP Comp. Goverment, AP Calc AB, AP European History, AP Human Geography

ECs:
-6 Years of MUN, 1 year as secretary, 1 as president, and will be SG of our ocnference for 500 delegates in November
-10 years of girl scouts, recieved silver and gold awards
-3 years of NHS, 1 years as Vice President, and 1 as President
-7 Years of Volleyball, 4 in HS, 2 on JV as Captain and 2 on Varsity as Captain
- 2 Years of volleyball coaching for competitive club in the area
-4 Years of newspaper, 1 as staff writer, 1 as editor, 1 as business and copy editor and 1 as guest writer
-3 Years as a school-wide tutor, 4 hours a week the entire year

Other:
-Spent two weeks in Costa Rica rebuilding a school. Went with girl scouts and was one of 16 girls from across the country chosen to participate
-Governor's school for Humanities
-Alternate for Girls State
-Lots of local MUN Awards
-First place at school science fair two years, bid to regionals two years, honorable mention at regionals one year
-First generation Persian-American (not sure how much weight this has)

SAT: 2020
ACT 31
First time attempt on both without studying... expected to rise, so look at the potential there!

SAT IIs: Waiting for scores, expected around 700s on Bio, USH and Lit

This is tons of information, but with senior year coming I wanted some prespective from you all. I'm in Virginia and would love to attend UVA. Is this realistic? Additionally, what would my chances be at Columbia or even HYP? Even asking this I feel a little out of my league, but let me know! Thanks =)

oh, and I’m a really good writer, and have started on some essays that I hope will help (doesn’t everyone?) and I have really good relationships with my counselor and teachers that would be writing the recs.

Also, if anyone could recommend what they think would be either a match or safety in addition to your feelings on the schools I asked about that would be great too!

I think you could definitely get into UVA, and you’d probably have a stronger chance if you bumped that ACT or SAT score a bit.

Columbia, and the others will be reaches, but they are reaches for anyone. You have some really nice ECs and your grades are good. If you boost your test scores up, and write an amazing essay, I could see you getting into at least one of them.

As you’re instate, UVA is definitely a match. Many people with much lower stats get in instate. Also, you have good ec’s.

yeah i think half the kids that applied instate got into UVA this year. thanks for the vote of confidence =) anyone else, please?

you seem to have good grades and good ECs. If I were you, I would try for some more awards. Yea, definitely UVA is not a problem. Hey, I’m in VA too!!

UVA looks realistic. We don’t know your class rank, but even if it’s number one any ivy, much less HYPC, would be a big reach with current scores.

Oh come on – I can’t be the only person who snickered upon reading the title!

UVA you’re probably in, since you’re in state and went to Gov School.

Does you school just go to local MUN conferences? Or have you just not won at larger conferences? The latter is miiiildly bad and takes a little credibility away, but it very well may be negligible 'cause you’ve yourself down as a leader of sorts.

Ivies are harder. Lots harder, even. What’s your prospective major?

i’m thinking about going into education, but am not really sure. so in terms of improvement, the thing i should be focusing on is test scores? at this point, is there really too much else that i have control over that will make a huge difference?
