I was waitlisted at UVA (OOS) this year, and eventually rejected. I enrolled in Boston University because of the money, and it seemed nice, as it was my 2nd choice after UVA. However, my question is do med schools frown on freshman transfers?? Would I have to explain why I would want to transfer when I would apply to med school? Also, if one does transfer to another school, then do they start out with a completely new GPA? How will that affect med school admissions? Thanks!

A good reason should suffice to negate any frowning.

Yes, you would certainly want to/be asked to do so.

No, absolutely not.

you would start with a new gpa at that school, but med school will still look at the gpa that you had at your other school.

What about if you transfer as a junior?

do med school also look at the GPA we take at a community college for the summer?
