Do medical schools favor their own?

<p>Do most medical schools favor students from their attached university (if they have one)? Specifically Vanderbilt.</p>

<p>Also do Vanderbilt, Holy Cross, Grinnel, Amherst, Davidson or Tufts discourage or disallow any of their students from applying to medical school? And finally if someone could rank them or provide a link to where it's done (or something similar) on medical school acceptance rates (I know its a tentative statistic but it's still nice to have).</p>

<p>No school can “disallow” someone from applying to med school. </p>

<p>I would imagine that all schools advise some students that their chances for admittance are low/lowish. But, they can’t stop a student from applying.</p>
