Do most schools require applications to be in by December 1st for auditions?

I noticed on the UMich site that all applications have to be in by December 1st in order to audition. Is it like this with all MT schools or just this one specifically?
By applications, do they mean recommendations and transcript as well, or just the actual application (online or not)?
Thank you!

Hi, I think it will vary greatly by school. The best thing to do is to check the wed sites of the schools you are applying to. I’m sure others will weigh in with some details.

As I recall, most of my D’s applications had to be in before December 1. But some schools require the application to be in before you get your audition date and time. Those dates, times and locations go fast. So the sooner you get the application done, the better. You want the date and times that you want.

My recollection is the same as chrissyblu. I remember this time last year being extremely hectic. Stay calm and focused. It takes time, but it will all come together.

I do not think every school has this deadline. It varies school to school. My D had al of her applications in before that time, however, mainly because she needed to be super organized in order for her to have worked out a do-able schedule for auditions, the travel required/time away from school and so on.
