Do my ECs make up for my slightly low ACT?

I am a half Chinese, half white Missouri resident from a small town (school of 150 in each class). I am applying to Wash U, U of Chicago, Northwestern, possibly Emory, and some state colleges.
ACT: 32 (I am retaking in October)
GPA: 3.99 unweighted
Rank: 2
Clubs:
Newspaper: founder and president (writer and editor in all editions, lots of time, recognition and award from my school board)
Key Club: president, 100s of hours organizing and planning the annual blood drive
FBLA: reporter and placed in State in Business Communication
Academic Team: varsity captain
MLC: 30 volunteer hours
NHS: 40 volunteer hours
A+: 70 volunteer hours
Science Olympiad: placed 4th in state for write it / do it event
Band: section leader, 1 in state solo / ensemble
Tri- M: treasurer, 20 volunteer hours
That’s a short edition of the clubs I have been involved with. I believe I can raise my ACT to a 33 or 34, and currently if it was superscored it would be higher. I know it is low for the schools I want to apply for, so please help - what are my chances?

Bonus question: I was considering law for a long amount of time, and from research (or frantic internet searches…) found out that pre-law isn’t the best to major in for law school. I have no idea what to major in now.

Things I enjoy:
Languages, different cultures, economics, history, law, grammar

Things I hate: math, science, engineering

It is additionally strange because both my parents are programmers and I have a foundation in it, and don’t necessarily hate it… It is important to me to have a high earning potential and I read that the lawyer job market is oversaturated? help me, I don’t know what to study!!!

I have a relative that majored in Spanish and did very well in international banking. She was valued for her ability to navigate the cultural differences between the negotiating parties. She knew how not to offend people and make people comfortable. She was so successful she retired early. Her major was Spanish. She did aid work abroad for a few years and now teaches ESL at a public school.

If you love languages and different cultures, study those.

There is no such major as “pre law” just as there isn’t premed. For premed you can major in anything…most people do Bio or Chem because there is the most overlap with pre-med pre-reqs, but you don’t have to.

For pre-law, same deal. Generally people stick to humanities…history, political science, etc. Something that lets you write a great deal.

If your score is low for the schools you want: Either raise your score, or lower your schools. I would try to do some of both. Also if you want to go to law school, consider going to a public school to save your $$ for law school

There is no such thing as a pre-law major. You can major in absolutely anything and go on to law school. I’ve seen people go into law with engineering majors, business majors, and a host of different liberal arts majors.
