bump :)

Improving your scores will help. Try taking the ACT with writing – if you do well, then it can override your SAT-I and in some colleges even your SAT-II scores.

Westmont, UA – Dont know – probably in because if i haven’t heard of them, they are probably not very competitive ![]()
Claremont, Pomona, UVA - Reach
UCSD – in if from California, reach otherwise
Rice – since legacy, good chance
Duke – probably hard. High Reach
Stanford – sorry, i think you will be out unless u improve your scores dramatically

Chance me please

Why would you care if Stanford’s early-decision was binding?!

Westmont - never heard of =/
UA - safety
Claremont Mckenna - reach
Pomona - reach
UNC Chapel Hill - slight reach (OOS hurts you)
UVA- reach (OOS hurts you)
Emory - low match
UCSD - safety
Rice (legacy) - slight reach
Duke - low match
Stanford- reach

chance me pleaseee

I think that your ECs are really good with all of the volunteer work you’ve done. As everyone has said, your SAT scores are a little low, but don’t get too upset about them. If you are going to retake them, just remember to relax. Don’t freak out about the test. You’ll do much better if you’re relaxed. Relaxation is what worked for my testing. Good luck.

You can probably get some merit aid at Westmont. I know a few kids there.

I think “chances” are not that helpful, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen UNC and UVA be a reach ( even OOS) while Duke is a low match!

Most of the repliers don’t know Westmont… it’s an easy safety school. Probably could get a scholarship, even though I don’t need one. It’s a second to last resort (last would be UA aha) Shrinkrap is right, “chances” really aren’t too helpful. There are a variety of answers and while it gives you a little context, no one knows a whole lot more than you yourself do.

Just so repliers know, both SAT I and SAT II I’ve only taken once so… those will hopefully increase, but I did take a lot of practice SAT I tests.

My EC and leadership qualities, and probably recommendations will be great, hopefully overshadow scores? And I can write a pretty mean essay, if I do say so myself. Thanks to everyone!

Have you tried taking the ACT? some people tend to do better on it if you think you’ve plateaued on the SAT…

i would say you prolly need to raise your score a little bit.
