All of my siblings have gone to great schools, Dartmouth, Amherst and Brown. When i am applying to colleges will they take into consideration where my siblings went to school? I know on the common app you have to fill out that information but do you think it will ever come up as a positive factor when deciding wether or not to accept me? just curious.

It might be a positive if your siblings are going to the school that you’re applying to, but other than that, I don’t see where it could help.

What if your sibling did not have astounding success at the school? What if they did not do that well?

well i know my siblings all did well in college with no major grade issues at all, and are colleges allowed to see my siblings transcripts anyways?

It will help you a bit at the schools your siblings attended. Like Columbia, for example, wouldn’t care if your brother attended brown.

unless your siblings are attending the colleges that you are applying to it will not make a difference. Even then having a sibling in that particular college will not necessarily make or break our application. I know plenty of people who had siblings at the colleges that they applied to and were rejected and it even stated in the letter that it was a tough decision to not accept them eventhough they had family relations to the school. Your siblings have all attended great schools but that does not correlate to your own application unless you have identical stats and everything else.

^that almost sounds like the standard legacy reject letter, just saying.
