Do Non-School-Certified Private Loans Still Exist?

Hey everybody -- am looking for a little assistance/advice here. I'm an undergrad student in an intense accelerated nursing program... I happen to also be independent (married and own my own home), and I need to take out a private (non-school-certified) education loan to help with my mortgage that will be in excess of my college's estimated cost of attendance. We don't have enough equity to take out a home equity loan.

Both my spouse and myself are very creditworthy, but no matter how hard I look, I absolutely CANNOT seem to find a single lender that will lend in excess of my estimated cost of attendance. I know that, with the economy, lenders have had to really restrict themselves, but there's got to be a lender out there somewhere that will do this... I'm really hoping to not have to go for a regular bank loan that will require immediate payments and have some unrealistic repayment term of 60 months or something.

Does anybody have any advice or experience in this area? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Best wishes!
