Do non-transferable classes get counted into the transfer GPA

I'm thinking of taking some extra classes for recreation and to hopefully boost my GPA before transferring.

On the UC transfer app, do we list any non-transferrable courses that have been taken?
And do grad schools look at CC grades?

Thanks! :)

Your fall grades are the last ones to count, so anything you take in the spring/summer won’t factor into your GPA that’s used to determine your admission decision.

Only UC-transferable courses count as well, so anything else you take won’t count toward your transfer GPA.

As for grad schools, yes, they’ll check into your CC grades.

Even though the grades aren’t factored into the GPA, do they still appear on my transcript?

Yep, all your grades show on your transcript, transferable or not.

Will my transfer GPA be affected if I fail a non transferable class?

Yes

No. See the rules at https://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/admission-requirements/transfer-requirements/preparing-to-transfer/transfer-gpa.html

However just because UC doesn’t count them in your transfer gpa doesn’t mean they don’t see the grade(s). You are required to list every college class you have ever taken, period. See https://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/_assets/files/how-to-apply/application-guide-transfer-applicants.pdf page 19. So will failing a class influence the reviewer during holistic review? Dunno, but it might And remember that if you ever apply to grad school they are also going to want to know about every college class you’ve ever taken, and they may have their own rules for calculating gpa that use every class
