<p>How would this be a reason to not go to UCLA? Colleges try to keep crimes committed on campus on the DL for a reason. I don’t care which school you attend, I guarantee bad things happen there, or very near there more often than you think.</p>
<p>This reminds me of that one headline a few months ago of when a study group on campus was robbed by gunpoint… I honestly think it’s because UCLA didn’t have enough signs up letting criminals know that they aren’t allowed to have guns there… <em>rolls eyes</em>

<p>I had a instructor at CC who was an ex probation officer and he gave the girls one tip, cuz it was a night class:</p>
<p>“Always carry a pencil with you, if you are walking to the parking lots at night and a man tries anything with you jab him really hard and run, a pen or pencil is all you need.”</p>
<p>actually, there was a rape at UCSD as well</p>
<p>my ex’s roommate and her boyfriend were held up at gunpoint last month. they were 3 blocks from berkeley’s campus at 11:30 pm.</p>

<p>Umm… This stuff happens all the time in universities. It’s just that most of then try to keep it secret. This happens very often at USC. (Did you guys hear about the girl waking up completely naked in a LOCKED CLASSROOM?) And it has happened at my old school LMU to someone I knew. And the school DID successfully keep it secret from the parents and the far majority of the rest of the students.</p>
<p>I’m going to buy a taser and carry some zip-ties so I can bust some foos when they try to step up. Represent.</p>

<p>Crime is a part of life though. When I went to school in DC I had a gun held against my head in downtown Washington, DC about two blocks from a club around 10 pm. Crime will always exist. It’s just a fact of life. Just have to be smart and a little bit lucky to avoid it as best you can.</p>

<p>DCSPORTS, it was outside of Zanzibar. I think that’s in SW if I remember correctly. It’s been over a year since that happened. Even with that happening, I love DC. Are you from DC? I enjoyed my time and the people from there. I have some great memories going to Black Cat and seeing some nice hip hop acts. But yeah, DC is a sick city but with some terrible problems, it’s really unfortunate.</p>
