Do Not Sing List

<p>Ok I specifically remember one of the schools I am applying to having a "Do Not Sing" list but I've lost the bookmark and now I can't find it. Does anyone know about one of these schools having a list like that?</p>

<p>Marymount had a Do Not Sing list 2 years ago.</p>

<p>Matthew Edwards, who posts here frequently, has a blog post about this on The College Audition Blog. I don’t think I’m supposed to link blog posts here, but if you google “do not sing” and “college audition blog” it should pop right up. It’s from 2011, so there may be some new ones now. </p>

<p>CCM posted a do not sing list last year.</p>

<p>Here is the CCM page - it may not be in list form as you wish - but if you read through all of their dos and don’t they name many specific songs that you should not sing:

<p>You really have to look on each schools website, the “dos and don’ts” or “do not sing” are typically clearly noted. Charlie Gilbert, from U Arts, has a good blog as well. Joe Deer, from Wright State, recently posted college audition advice. Again we can’t post the link but it should be easy enough to find via google.</p>

<p>There is also very good advice from Dr John Stefano, from Otterbein, on audition tips on this site. Its been posted a few times. Check the Otterbein section. </p>
