A lot of people in my classes, thinking that PARCC was a joke and protesting the principle of testing us on things we didn’t even learn, decided to write essays about how we didn’t want to take this test with various reasons backing our claim. Upon receiving the scores back, I obviously found it to be subpar. I was also told that PARCC would be taken away within a year or two, so I wasn’t sure if this type of test would actually count. Do you think this will have any bearing on college acceptances? My SAT Scores and GPA are decent (~2100 and ~3.95)
Obviously this was not a smart idea. I’m not here looking for a lecture so please refrain from doing that. Thank you.
I live in NJ as well and our scores did not count (sophmore year) if we had taken the PSAT which was free to us so most people did take. As long as they have some other test score (psat, sat, act) for that school year, it should not ever show up on any type of reccord. Last year was a “test” yeas and most of the students opted out anyway so a very small number actually took the test. For me atleast I only took the first half then opted out the 2nd and was not penalized so dw
I legitimately did the same thing in my essays, and I put random answers, and I still scored average. I am not worried about it at all. I am a Senior now, but my Sophomore year English class was chosen out of all the classes in my grade to be the “guinea pigs” and take the test. I did not give a crap then, and I did not last year either!
That’s exactly what I did @aznboi4981. I ended up a few points above average for both sections and I have no idea how. I figured that since most people opted out there would be no way they’d make us keep the scores. I was just worried. Thank you
bless. that test was nothing but a load of garbage made to make the eduacation system nothing but a money making business.
I didn’t answer like half of the questions and I scored way above average with no idea how…
It’s not supposed to count though. Besides, the “opt out” gained so much press that even if colleges get your PARCC scores, they know no one took it seriously.
