Do ppl change in prep schools?

I know that during high school, everybody changes in some way, whether it be their personality, the way they dress or just something out of the ordinary.

Since I go to a public school right now and am entering a private school as a 9th grader next year, ppl at my current school have the stereotype of prep school students of being cocky and arrogant.. you know all that stuff.

So my main concern is if they're really like that, or if the students at the school just act that because they're stereotyped that way. I, myself, will make sure to stay true to myself but as for your opinions.... SHARE THEM WITH CC!!!!... and me... of course!

I have heard this, I haven't known folks to change their behavior because of a school stereotype. I think that many students who attend boarding school become more mature and confident, develop as individuals and are in fact less likely to behave in what you might think of as stereotype. Of course I can only speak of the folks I know who have attended BS.

ok icic... good to know cuz i wanna meet ppl who are true to themselves! Any other opinions?

We're not any more cocky/arrogant than any other teenagers.

Also, never try to be something that you're not.

It is also best to go into a new school (or any school for that matter) with an open mind. I know it's hard to not stereotype, but try the best.

Really, though, what are the differences between boarding school students and "normal" students?

idk really. i think it's just the amount of money one has because i live and hang with lots of ppl who aren't as privileged as i am, not even close, so at 13 i've really come to appreciate what i have!! And i mean there are many smart kids... just they dont have the money to go to these preparatory school... sigh... too bad.
