I applied to some private universities and two of them (USC and Franklin & Marshall) are requesting my parents tax forms. If there are errors on my parents tax forms and those two privates hold my financial aid, does that necessarily mean that they will report those errors to FAFSA and the rest of the schools I applied to will also hold my financial aid?

The schools may make correction to your FAFSA

You should correct the fafsa yourself, if you already know there are errors.

First of all, it is common for private schools to request parent tax returns. Second, if your parents have filed their taxes electronically, ask them to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (it’s an option on the FAFSA home screen). That will ensure that the info is correct. If a school makes an update to your FAFSA, it may or may not go out to all schools listed. Some schools make the changes in a way that updates only for them, but most just send it out to the processor in a way that will update for all schools.

OK I understand, thank you very much
