do prof recs and college official reports have to be in sealed envelopes or??

can i mail them in myself??

I have the letters of recommendations and the midterm reprrt and letter in good standing.

I need to photocopy them and send them to more than one school. Do they accept photocopies and can i send them in??

I don’t think they allow photocopies. You will have to ask your college official to fill all of them out. And yes, I think you will have to put them in sealed envelopes. In fact, you are not even allowed to see your recommendation letters and reports according to the FERPA thingy I guess. I might be wrong. But I did not want to take any risks and so I got them all filled separately and got every one of them sealed.

You should give your professors and college official stamped envelopes addressed to the schools you’re applying. Its says that at the top of the forms for the Common App. They won’t accept photocopies.

what do you mean by official envelopes?

and what if they give me the recs and secondary report in sealed envelopes. can i mail it all in one huge package from my house? they are all sealed and signed

Sorry, I meant give your professor and “college official” (for the recommendation form and the college official form). Any envelope will do. If they’ve given you them and signed the backs for the envelopes I assume you can send them out yourself, but that’s not what the common app instructions say, so I don’t really know. You might want to contact the schools directly in that case.

Per the Common app for the College Official’s Report:

“After completing all the relevant questions below, give this form to a college official at your institution. If applying via mail, please also give that school official
sealed official transcripts and stamped envelopes addressed to each institution that requires a College Official’s Report .”

And per the Instructor Evaluation form:

“After completing all the relevant questions below, give this form to an instructor who has taught you a full-credit college class. If applying via mail, please also give
that instructor stamped envelopes addressed to each institution that requires an Instructor Evaluation.”

ok thanks alot. i dont see why they wouldnt accept them if they are all sealed but they are sent by me. the deadline for one school is monday and school is closed bc of snow tomorrow so i have to mail it tomorrow. I hope it doesnt affect my chances. Also, i didnt want to be a pest and have them have to mail it as well
