Can professors add more students than the limit according to the schedule of classes? For example, can they have 25 students in a class when the limit on the schedule of classes is 20?

IIRC many professors told us not to give them "add cards" and said to go to the department for adding the class. Does that make sense?

Wait, but don't you still have to show up on the first day (if you're waitlisted) to see if the prof. will add you? My OL said that profs. usually handle the waitlisted people on the first day.

Well that was for a math class and, IIRC, a physics class. It could depend on the department. Since he made a big deal about not giving him "add cards," it seems like it is normally common practice to have the prof add you.
