Do Quarter Grades Mean Anything for ED (Brown)?

I submitted this thread a while back, but just got my quarter grades in and did very well. I was wondering if that helps at all or if they don't really care about quarter grades and they just use semester grades?

Calc BC 5 / Stat 5 / Euro 5 / Chem 5 / US 3 / Spanish 3
AP's i'm currently in:
Physics C, an advanced math class that goes beyond Calc BC, Econ, Spanish V, and English: Composition and Literature.

-I have a summer job as a lifeguard
-I also teach saxophone as a job.
-I got the Presidential Volunteer Service Award and a Youth Service Medal of Honor, but idk how important that is in admissions.

Essays: Pretty good, especially for a math guy :)

Recs: 1 is amazing (my teacher loves me ... talks about me to his classes...is basically obsessed with me) and the other will probably a good one but not as good as my math teacher's one. They will actually be very different recs -- one thinks I'm a naturally brilliant kid (the math one), the other thinks I'm a hard worker who is dedicated to school.

So, if you've gotten this far I really appreciate it, could you chance me at these schools, preferably with percents:

Schools:
Brown (ED)
Amherst
Carnegie Mellon
Stanford

well, if u did Brown ED, that means ur first choice is Brown.....and I would say u're in at Brown, no problem!

I'm inclined to say in, but you never know

thx for the chances. Does anyone have an idea on how influential quarter grades are in admissions (if at all)?

I'd think that quarter grades would be influential to show that you aren't slacking. As to what extent i'm not sure

First quarter grades play as much a role in ED admission as first semester grades do for RD admission. At least that is what I've always been led to believe.

bump....any other opinions on my chances/quarter grades?

bump...........!

does anyone else know if 1st quarter grades for ED are the equivalent of 1st semester grades for RD? Are they really given that much weight?

They probably won't get you in if your scores aren't good enough already, but haven't terrible grades could keep you out if it looks like your slacking.
