Do Religious Courses count towards the GPA when applying?

I am in a religious school and at least 3 classes per semester are a study of various religious topics. Do the grades for these classes count when apply to UCLA (or any other UC school)?

Short answer - it depends.

If the course is listed on the a-g course list, it counts. If not, it doesn’t.

In general, if the course title contains “Jesus” it will not count. A more general “World Religions” course may count.

Thank you. This is a Jewish school. No Jesus in the name but lots of Jewish this and jewish that.

Just so that I know how to use the link you provided - I found my school. https://hs-articulation.ucop.edu/agcourselist/institution/3777 - so whatever is in the list counts towards university? And the rest, I could get minimum (like a D) and it wouldn’t affect anything at all?

These are the courses I have.

Jewish Law & Philosophy - not in the list
Applied Hebrew - IN THE LIST
Jewish History - IN THE LIST - but in my curriculum its called Classical Jewish History.
Talmud (kind of like Bible study) - not in the list
Biblical Literature - IN THE LIST

Thank you very much.
