So... I have a question. I'm applying to Rice ED, and I was just wondering if Rice majors "fill up" like they do at other schools. For example, at UT, only so many engineering majors are accepted annually; kids have to earn their way into the engineering program, not just the school. Does the same go for majors at Rice? Would applying into a less competitive major I'm not as excited about and then asking for a major change later on be more beneficial to my potential acceptance or should I just apply into the one I'm passionate about because there is not competition between majors upon application? Thanks so much for the help!

No, with the exceptions of music and architecture.

You do not apply to any school (save for music and archi as DorianMode mentioned). You are admitted into Rice. The school of choice is a non-binding pick - select what you like.
