Do schools care about JUNIOR year AP scores?

I was just wondering- I heard that junior year AP scores( and ap scores in general) don't really mean that much- as in, they don't go into admissions. Would taking an AP class but not taking their AP exam hurt me?

I think that if the college saw you did the AP class and had a spot for AP scores on its application and you did not fill in anything for AP score, this might make it look like it ws not a very rigorous AP class - and if you got an A in the class they might not take it very seriously.

Unless the college was already really familiar with the quality of the AP classes at your school.

NO they don’t care.

I heard they don’t care about the scores but they do care that you take the AP exams. Several college admission books mention this.

@ Columbia and Midwest Mom: That’s what I was afraid of. I didn’t take one of my AP exams because I was ill for a large portion of my second semester Junior Year, and thus, did not feel prepared.

You should state that in the additional information that you were sick. Either that have your counselor write something. Stop worry, these are things you can’t control.
