Do schools like Exeter or Deerfield look at your winter term grades to make sure you are doing fine after you accept the admission? Do you get to know if they are accessing your grades?
Do schools often reject students just because their grades are dropping after they accept you? <- if that happens, how bad do they have to be, considering that the schools like Deerfield good?
Sorry for all these questions, but I just got curious:) cuz I heard that this is possible. Thank you:)

Taft does. Not sure about Deerfield. Exeter doesn’t request a final transcript (someone correct me on this?).

But don’t start slacking off for the rest of the school year yet. You never know :).

Exeter DOES require it, or they did two years ago anyway.

I don’t know…a girl from my school who got accepted to Exeter last year butted off to America 1 month before the school year ended :D. She skipped the mandatory IGCSE exams and doesn’t seem to have a problem right now.

@neato: Did they request it in July/before the new school year?

But yes, keep working - AFAIK, they won’t revoke their acceptance if you get Bs in your final transcript. If you go from straight As to straight Cs, THAT would be a problem.

From Thacher’s acceptance materials:

“If you accept our offer of admission (and we certainly hope you will!) we will expect your child to maintain the same level of personal conduct and academic achievement on which the offer was based. We will be sending you a reminder to send us your child’s final transcript later in the spring."

Yes, Exeter did ask for final transcripts last year. If procedures are the same, Exeter will send you a request form. You will need to provide it to your school so they can send the grades to Exeter when available, after the school year ends. So, keep those grades up!!!

I would assume that most schools require final transcripts, so keep your grades up They want to see you maintaining good grades.

Does Andover or Groton’s admission ask for the grades too? And do they often revoke their acceptance?? Thank you

I’m sure that both schools will expect to see your transcripts . . . and both will expect you to maintain the same level of performance you had when you were admitted. If something has happened that will impact your grades significantly, you should explain that to the school as soon as possible. If you’re simply planning to stop doing your school work for the next couple of months just for the fun of it . . . well, not a good idea.

Wait…so do they only start requesting it after this school year ends or do they already enclose a form in the admission package?

I will not have a final transcript available for the school, so how may I explain this to them?

I’m sure the schools understand that international students are on different schedules and may or may not have final transcripts available . . . don’t worry! :)
