<p>Many do because it is a nice gesture, but they will obviously mail you something regardless with enough time to make an informed decision. I have received emails from mine, though they were not good news.</p>
<p>My son got in off a waitlist.
They called his cell and when he didn’t answer (he was in class) they called his guidance counselor.</p>
<p>If someone has been chosen off of a waitlist, it’s an urgent situation for the college. They will go to extreme lengths to contact you or your school. </p>
