Do science classes get easier to get A's in once you're done with prereqs?

I was looking at the grade distributions for premed prereq. classes vs. classes that I can do later to complete my major and much more people get A’s in the latter. Are these classes easier? Also, do premed GPA’s typically increase or decrease after Freshman year?

Depends on the major. I’m a junior undergrad studying chemistry but also premed, and this hasn’t been true at all for me. The freshman year intro Gen Chem/Orgo/Bio/Physics courses honestly seem like 1st grade level classes compared to these upper level p-chem classes. On the other hand, I’ve also taken both intro and upper level Biology courses for premed prereqs, and I must say that the level of difficulty doesn’t seem to get much harder than Bio 171/172. Bio 305 (genetics), for example, has been jokingly easy compared to the freshman year Bio courses. I can’t speak to upper level physics courses, as I’ve only taken the two intro courses.

Bio 171 was pretty hard for me. No matter how hard I studied, I always ended up with a B+ on every test I’m taking Bio 172 next semester, any tips for doing better in that class? @illinoisgolf

Memorize the notes. Don’t waste your time reading the textbook. If you can recite the notes word for word before the exam, you will get 100% on everything.
