<p>Yes scores matter. Why do you think colleges want them?</p>
<p>If you look at the data, applicants with better scores have significantly higher chances than those with lower scores.</p>
<p>i’ve seen people who aren’t even in the top 25% of my school get accepted into the likes of Princeton, Hopkins, Wake forest, Brown, Cornell, Emory</p>
<p>And so what? That doesn’t mean that grades and scores don’t matter. They certainly do, and if you look at the stats of those top schools, students with higher grades and higher scores are more likely to get in.</p>
<p>However, they are just averages, and people with lower stats get in all the time for various reasons. That doesn’t mean it’s all chance, though.</p>
