I am currently a senior and my grade for this semester won't show up until most of the
deadlines for graduate schools pass. I have already sent them my transcript containing my
grades for first 3 years of undergraduate. If the senior grade doesn't matter much, I will
rather spend more time on application and GRE then, thanks.

Most of the time, graduate programs won’t know or care about your senior grades. You’ll have to send in a final transcript showing that you’ve graduated – that’s all.

That said, there are various reasons to continue doing well. Are you taking classes from any of your LOR writers? Are you taking major courses that you’ll need as a basis for graduate study? And last, what if you don’t get into graduate school this round? In the last case, when you apply later, graduate schools WILL see your senior grades.

You should check if they require a transcript including the fall term of your senior year. I know a few of mine did, so I had to let them know it probably wouldn’t show up until after the new year due to our finals running up until December 22 that year.

Depends. I’m not sending in my transcript until after my fall semester since most of my grades will be in with about a month or so to spare before deadlines. In that case, it will matter.

Either way, work hard. Your graduating GPA will always remain with you.
