Do some private colleges "sticker price" like car dealers?

<p>^In OH, Case is very well known for awesome Merit packages to top kids. Both my D. and her friend (one year later) got great packages. However, it is not a LAC, primary focus are engineers and pre-meds. D. has chosen another school, but her friend went to Case. Both currently are Med. students.</p>

<p>(since you - the OP - mentioned it) We had a really nice visit to Southwestern University in Georgetown. It’s a great LAC, CTCL, not really well know school. So close to Austin, Texas. Loved it. They offered my son a very nice merit package as well. He decided to go where he could study engineering instead, but it was my favorite of the LACs we visited.</p>

<p>Yes, a number of less selective colleges are offering automatic merit aid for certain test scores. Some will even increase the aid offer if you re-take the ACT or SAT after you are accepted. Rankings Rankings Rankings</p>
