Do some schools not accept the CSS profile?

I tried to submit online to all of my daughter's schools, but some schools were not listed.

I think every school requires FAFSA, but not all require Profile. Carefully check the FA filing requirements on the websites of each of the colleges, double check deadlines (voice of experience).

We were told that most public schools just accept FAFSA and private schools usally wanted the CSS profile. At least the 6 my son applied too did and the one public didn't. I think, although our aid wasn't extravagant, we wouldn't of gotten anything with just the fafsa. It was the CSS form that allowed us to show other bills and savings (which in our case was not very much)

You can get a list of schools that require CSS here:
<a href="https://profileonline.collegeboard.com/PXRemotePartInstitutionServlet/PXRemotePartInstitutionServlet.srv%5B/url%5D">https://profileonline.collegeboard.com/PXRemotePartInstitutionServlet/PXRemotePartInstitutionServlet.srv</a></p>

If a school isn't listed there, you only have to submit the FAFSA. If a school is listed there you want to submit both the FAFSA and the CSS.

Also be sure to check. Some schools also have their own finaid from which needs to be completed.
