My daughter has been admitted to the Ph.D program of biomedical science . But I don not know much about it. Could you tell me something about the research and faculty there? And whether it is a good place for someone who want to be a scientist?

To be honest, as a mother of a single girl, I am worried about the safety in New Orleans. It is said that the city is full of crimes and not safe for women. I am afraid the city is not suitable for study.

Because I am not an American and have not opportunity to visit the university and city, I will appreciate your kindness if you can share your experience. Thank you !

tulanes in the richest area of new orleans, very nice area...outside of that area though it can be bad, its safe around campus and the surround area though for sure...tulanes an excellent school

It's a city and has some crime, but Tulane takes many measures to ensure its students' safety. If you like, I can send you a longer response about my family's experience with Tulane and the safety issue. The short answer is that students can be as safe at Tulane as in any US city. They shouldn't go wandering around alone at night, but there's no real need to do so.

We've been to New Orleans many times, both before the storm for conventions and since the storm because of our son. It is cleaner and smells better now than at any time in the past that we ever saw it. I certainly wouldn't turn down a good opportunity for your daughter to go to this school based on concerns about the city.

Best wishes.
