Do students here use backpacks?

sooo when i visited ucla i noticed alot of guys here use backpacks to carry their stuff around.

but i didnt really pay attention to what the girls were using to carry their stuff...

would a big purse be good to carry my stuff around or should i get a backpack?

Do as you please. Why is this important to you?

Are you going to have a lot of stuff to carry ie textbooks? if not, then sure why not just use a purse or tote bag

i dont know thats kinda my question sorry i forgot to add that. am i going to be needing to carry alot of books around?

Dump your stuff off in your dorm room between classes.

Pretty much nobody brings books to class, it’s pointless unless you’re going to read them during your break or work on homework during a break.

All you need is a spiral notebook per class pretty much.

I am a parent but I feel I can help with an answer. My daughter is a freshman this year. In the first couple of years of high school she used a backpack as did everyone else. Then she transitioned to a large tote/book bag since she still carried around a lot of books. When she started UCLA she had a couple small totes for her books. She says she really doesn’t carry around a lot of books but often takes her lap top and a notebook or two. After having visited her a few times this year I would say that many girls carry some kind of tote big enough for a couple of notebooks/books. Or a backpack if that is more comfortable for you. It seems a tote bag is the more “fashionable” choice these days.

Yea, there is no need to carry textbooks around. If you want to study on campus, just check out the textbooks at Powell.

language classes use textbooks… lol

yeah… ppl dont usually bring textbooks. maybe one or two at most

Thanks for asking this question, lalala91! I’ve used a purse for like half of high school and the idea of backpacks is so foreign to me now…
