I see that the course is fairly rigorous and based on Vol. I and II of Apostol's Calculus, which—although certainly different from most people's high school math—is something I would think a lot of people would try to get out of. Is that normal? Is it a bad even idea if you have seen rigorous proof-based and had multivariable calculus and linear algebra before? Does anyone have experience with the course?

Honors Math A & B is generally taken by the most hard-core math students (think IMO gold medalists and future Putnam winners). It is very proof-based rather than plug and chug, If by “get out of” you mean go beyond, no. If you mean drop down to Calc III, that is what generally happens. The class starts with 100 students and generally lands at 30-40.
