Not sure if I should buy an all-in-one printer for my D in the Fall. Do most students bring their own printers for their rooms?

I don’t know what most do, but I know my D is enough of a procrastinator that she’d do better with her own. I haven’t done my research to figure out what kind we’re going to get, though. Suggestions are welcome!

I can only speak for my D and her friends, but I would say most do because it allows them more flexibility. We found a great one at Sams (there’s one on Skyland Boulevard) that has served her well and doesn’t drink ink. There is also an office supply store in the shopping center if you want to compare offers. I don’t recommend using them on the wifi.

If you do decide to buy one, I bought a MacBook Pro this January in preparation for UA, and it came with a free $100 all-in-one printer (rebate).

They are definitely worth the money in terms of convenience! Prints on campus are cheap, but even if they just use it occasionally it’s money well-spent. BAMAGIRLS is right about the ink usage though, make sure to compare how many pages of print/cartridge and how expensive they are before you buy. (especially if you have to buy multiple cartridges for color)

Does anyone know how much printing costs (color or black and white) on campus and where the students can print?

These links might help:

And, if you buy a computer that comes with a printer that you find does drink ink, hang on to it. Staples and some other office supply stores offer $50.00 for trade ins of any printer on the purchase of a new one at different times during the year. I remember this special running last August.
