Do subject tests really matter?

I know that this is the last year that subject tests will be required for some schools, like in a way they are being discontinued for being a requirement. Because of that I was wondering whether or not schools will actually really look at them. I'm wondering this because my subject tests scores are pretty bad like in the 600s. I got a 30 on my ACT and I have a really good GPA and I do community service and ECs.

Colleges that require SAT IIs are not discontinuing their requirement next year except the University of California schools and even those will still be recommending them for next year. And you should assume for the UCs that they are still important this year and they are important for any college that requires them.
