Hey guys, i was just tryna get a head start on my college essays.

i know the common app already released its essays for the 2014-15 school year, but i realized many school's didn't reveal their supplemental essays.

so i was wondering if i could just assume that the supplemental essays for last year will be the same again for this year. Do they change a lot each year, or no?

Im applying to MIT, CalTech, U of M, Columbia, Harvard, etc etc.

Thanks in advance!

It honestly depends on the school. If you want to get working, check their websites, and maybe draft an essay about your most meaningful extracurricular activity - this is a common supplemental essay question, and you can morph it to fit different types of supplemental essay questions as well.

If you happen to be on facebook, join the MIT Class of 2019 Applicants page. One of the admins who is a currently a student at the school posted the supplemental essays for this year, he said that they didn’t change and I believe that. Here they are:
- We know you lead a busy life, full of activities, many of which are required of you. Tell us about something you do simply for the pleasure of it. (100 words)
2.Although you may not yet know what you want to major in, which department or program at MIT appeals to you and why? (100 words)
3.What attribute of your personality are you most proud of, and how has it impacted your life so far? This could be your creativity, effective leadership, sense of humor, integrity, or anything else you’d like to tell us about. (250 words)
4.Describe the world you come from; for example, your family, clubs, school, community, city, or town. How has that world shaped your dreams and aspirations? (250 words)
5.Tell us about the most significant challenge you’ve faced or something important that didn’t go according to plan. How did you manage the situation? (250 words)

I’m fairly confident these are the prompts, but if you’re unsure, I would find another way to confirm before you begin to commit your time to working on these essays

@Unis25 The admin who posted the prompts is not a student at MIT. He is still in high school.

This was posted last year but if I’m not mistaken the essays don’t change much over the years (4 of the 5 last year were the same as previous years… They just swapped one).
