Do supplements hurt or help?

I am a dancer and am considering including a supplement video of some sort to show the schools I am applying to my dancing. But if I'm not sure I'll be a dance major (as in, the video would be to show my passion/dedication only, not to get into a certain program) would adding this only hurt my chances of admission?

Thanks so much!

I don’t see how it could possibly hurt, unless you’re a completely horrible dancer  Seriously though, if it shows adcoms that you have a notable talent, it can only help your application.

unless you write a manifesto that bashes the school you are applying to…i don’t see how it would hurt you.

How can it hurt? If you are really good it will show your level of dedication. You could put a link in one of your essays to a short video.

A dance video adds another dimension to your application -how can it hurt ?

I think it’d be interesting. If you’re good or at least decentish it’ll make adcoms get to know a bit more about you. If you suck, well, I hope you don’t send the video in haha.

But I’m pretty sure you’re really good if you’re considering sending in that video!

Thanks so much for the responses, everyone!

I don’t know where I got the information that it might hurt - I think I read it in a book somewhere, so I was just looking for other opinions. I’m really considering it, so thanks so much for the encouragement!
