Do taking classes at a prestgious university over the summer enhance your application

<p>I am a junior and want to take classes at a pretty prestigious university over the summer going into my senior year. I do not choose to earn college credits because it is costly, I'd just like to enjoy a good experience and learn about college life. I would like to go for 1 or 2 weeks. Does anyone have any suggestions on a university's program? Is it tough to get in? How much money? Anybody attend anything and would like to share some info?</p>

<p>Also, if you took part in one of these summer school programs does it enhance your college apps? Would it just look good if you were applying to the same school you went to over the summer? </p>

<p>At least for schools like Yale, there's no discernible "boost" versus some other useful summer occupation</p>

<p>If they are the typical expensive, non-selective summer programs, they are not particularly helpful for college apps to selective schools.</p>
