I'm applying to UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCSB, Loyola Marymount, Georgetown, and GWU. I know there's going to be a ton of essays to write, so I'd like to start on them now. Do the essay topics for these schools change every year? The new ones don't come out til fall, and I suppose it'd be a waste to start writing them if the new versions will be completely different. I'll be filling out a transfer application, if that makes any difference.

I don’t have the answer for those universities in particular, but you can always start writing the ‘general’ essays such as “Why XXXXXX”, “Why are you transfering”, etc.

Common app essays have been the same the past few years.

UC prompts are usually the same year-to-year.

Okay thanks everyone! I also had the idea of asking the admission offices of esp. the private schools directly, so if anyone else is in this situation that’s another option.
