Dumb question, but I've never been in a college dorm before and mine was closed off during CalSO. Do the dorms have TVs in them or is it suggested that I bring my own? I love my American Idol but I'm guessing I won't get to watch it at the dorms? Lol...
Also, are microwaves allowed in the dorms? Again, I'm guessing probably not.
Last question! :D Do you recommend buying a mini fridge, in the context of how small the dorms are? By the way, I'm at Foothil

Each residence hall building (at least in the units–not sure about the setup in foothill) has a main/ground floor lounge, usually with a TV in it. However, in my building in Unit 3, the TV didn’t work last year, and it never was fixed. I visited other friends in Unit 1 and 2, and their TVs worked fine. But even with a TV, I imagine it would be difficult to watch the programs you want, as there would always be other people trying to view their own shows.

Microwave: Yes, they are definitely allowed in the dorms! I would recommend bringing one to the dorms if you can.

As for a mini-fridge: yes, it definitely would be helpful if you or your roommates ever would like to store leftovers for later. I had one in my dorm, and I’m pretty sure you would be able to find space in your room for it. Just make sure your roommates aren’t also bringing a fridge/microwave/other big item. If lack of space is a concern, put your microwave on top of your mini-fridge. That’s what I did.

I had a double in the units sophomore year and had a mini flatscreen tv, microwave, and minifridge. It was pretty nice.
