Do the UC's know what other UC's you've applied to?

I know the financial department of every school you apply to can easily see where else you have applied, if you're using the fasfa, and then transfer this information on to their admission department, if they're on good terms with each other. Which I assume would be the case at top schools like Harvard, Princteon, etc. probably to stop "name chasing" kids who just apply to a bunch of top schools for no particular reason, so they can weed out those kids with genuine interest.

But I am curious if anyone knows how the universities in California operate, that is assuming they're not doing what I previously mentioned. Does each UC still know what other UC's you have applied to?
