Do these count as extracurriculars

Hey,

So I'm going into my Junior year of highschool this coming September and I'm curious as to whether what I do as my extracurricular activities count as real extracurriculars.

I only do one extracurricular with the school, which is teaching the middle school guitar club.

However, I do many academic things by myself for fun and out of interest. Here are some of the academic and non-academic activities I partake in:

Languages:
-I taught myself the first two years of French and I'm skipping them. I'm planning to continue self teaching myself French, German, Spanish, and Japanese up to the AP level, and for some of the languages up to the C1 level for proficiency tests.
-I'm conversational (self taught except for Spanish) in French, Spanish, and Norwegian (which means I can understand a bit of Swedish and can read Danish pretty well)

Music:
-I compose classical music such as string trios, piano sonatas, etc. The school orchestra played one of my pieces.
-I play with a band (a very serious one that is becoming pretty popular very quickly)
-I play guitar, piano, bass, drums, and violin
-I score films (short ones)
-I'm very into computer music and I'm currently in the process of expanding my studio
-Won PTA Reflections on the state level 3 times in a row for music
-I teach the middle school guitar club

Film:
-I make serious films with a friend of mine who plans to go to film school.
-I score films (as previously said)

Writing:
-I write tons of short stories and will probably have at least one published in the coming year
-I'm working on a novel (about 20 pages in), but I'll see how that goes XD

Science:
-I'm not sure if this is really an activity...but I enter science competitions like Du Pont on my own (I won honorable mention in Du Pont in 8th grade, but I don't know if that counts for anything since it was quite a while ago)

I know colleges also care about social life, so no, I'm not one of those people who comes home and just works and has no social contact. I have a very active social life, but I'm able to do these things because I get through homework and studying very quickly.

Are these good enough? Or do I need to do more involved with the school?

An extracurricular is anything you do outside of the school. These are all extracurricular activities, and you seem like a very interesting applicant. Best of luck!

Honestly, these activities are much more interesting than the laundry list of clubs a lot of people seem to have. Like An0maly said, an extracurricular is just that - something you do outside of school.

Enter some music and writing competitions. A few awards can’t hurt.

I definitely agree that those are some solid extracurriculars.
