Do these numbers look alright? My chances for Stanford, UCB, UCLA,...

k so basically I want to study computer programming/Physics and i am applying everywhere under the sun, hoping that I will get into at least one extremely prestigious school like Stanford (my top choice) or any Ivy League really. Here's how I see it:

1st choice Stanford (I like the campus and environment alot): reach

if I dont get into there I'll look towards other highly prestigious schools if I get into any of them (Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, etc.)

Berkeley (great school for computers, and have a lot of friends up there): match, or at least give or take

UCLA: If i dont get into berkeley, but I do get into here i'll go here

University of Washington, University of Maryland, UCSB, UCR: Safety (in that order)

and btw, I am CAUCASIAN, with a very French last name. I'm thinking that since I'm fluent in French, and I finished Latin 4 in HS already it'll help me stand out. Also my family income......

anyways the numbers

GPA: 4.30

SATI: 2160 (800M, 680V, 680W)

SAT2: Math2-800, Physics-750

AP's: Euro-3, Language Comp-3, Stats-4, PhysicsB-4, Computer Science A-5

EC's: Peer tutor (2 yrs with 50+ hrs.), Varsity football (1 yr.), JV track (2 yrs.), Prez of French Club ( 2 yrs. member 1 yr prez, and I am fluent in the language), Octagon club (2 yrs. comm. service club), Chess club (1 yr.), avid piano player for 6 yrs., brown-belt in karate (4 yrs.)

Family Income: 18,000 (pitiful I know)

Awards: CSF lifetime scholar (next year I'll have it), AP scholar w/ distinction, Outstanding student of te quarter several times

Courseload: one of the hardest ever. Freshman year I had 2 honors classes (GeometryH and English9H), Soph I had 3 (AP Euro, English10H, Algebra2E), Junior year I had 5 with Latin 4 being the schedule-filler (AP Language Comp, Physics E but i still took the AP test since thats all we have at our school, AP stats, Math analysis E, and AP Comp Sci)

Next year I'm taking 4 (AP Psych, AP Govrnment/Econ, AP CALC, AP Lit Comp)

Thx in advance any help is appreciated

oh yes and add to EC's the fact that I took Nanotechnology at UCR

Stanford will be a very far reach, Any of the Lower-Ivy Schools is also a high reach. You have a good chance at UCLA and UCB.

Barring any disaster on the application, you're in at Berkeley. I'd be concerned about applying to "all the Ivies" plus Stanford, plus other schools. You'll end up wasting too much time on applications, you might not put in the necessary effort on the UC applications and it might hurt you. If you were to apply to All Ivies + Stanford + UC + Safeties you listed, you'd have to navigate through eight different applications. I would not be surprised if you got selected into one of the lower ivies; but you have to find one that you particularly like and invest your efforts towards that school. As is, the upper Ivies and Stanford are moderate to high reach, depending on the school. UCSB should be enough for a safety. Berkeley remains your best bet, but remember, don't screw up your UC application. Best of luck,

TTG

thx, i appreciate the help

vagrant star:

Assuming you are a California resident,
UCB: Match
UCLA: Match
UCSB: Safety
UCR: Super Safety
