Do they combine ACT Composite and ACT Writing from different sittings?

Hello, I am a junior in high school who is sustaining a 3.5 GPA, and just recently took the ACT for the first time. I have always been decent at taking tests and scored a 31 first try. I would never take the ACT again, except for the fact that I didnt take the writing portion! Since this 31 I have taken a practice ACT (w/ writing) with The Princeton Review and scored a 29 composite and an 8 on the writing. Im worried that if I do take the ACT again I won't score the 31 that I got this time. If I take it again, get a 28, and an 8 on the writing will they still take my 31 and, overall, accept me?

Thanks for any help! I found out that U of M doesn't combine the writing and composite for different tests but I couldn't find the same information for MSU! Thank you!

If you submit multiple test scores to MSU, you must have at least one with the writing component. If you send additional test scores that have a higher composite score, they will review your file with the highest composite score. As long as you have one writing portion on file, you don’t need to take it again.
