Do they look at Freshmen year grades?

My freshmen year grades were terrible! My father was terribly ill and had a heart attack so that kind of took a toll in my life :/
Anyways Freshmen year my unweighted gpa was 2.6 and weighted was 3.2 (all honors)

Sophmore year: Unweighted gpa: 3.8 Weighted: 4.3
Junion Year: Unweighted gpa: 3.9 Weighted 4.6

35 on ACT; 2330 on SAT 1; 740 and 760 on SAT 2's (Math and World History)

Do i even have a chance? How badly will my freshmen year affect me?

Your standarized scores as well as your sophomore-junior year scores are great.
I would DEFINITELY write something about your freshman year experience, whether it be your entire essay or a small paragraph in the “additional information” section. As long as you have that, I’m sure you have a fighting change of getting into Upenn.

You have an upward trend and great ACT and SAT scores. Junior year is usually regarded as the most important. You have a chance, just like everyone else with equally high stats. No one is guaranteed “in” to an Ivy League.

Haha, thanks guys. You just boosted up my self esteem by 100 :D

If the rest of your application is on par with your scores you’re looking good, my friend. :)
